A Christ-focused Connection
God has called women to have a significant role in HIS kingdom and our prayer and purpose is to offer opportunities for women to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and to equip them to serve Him.
To grow we must face our deepest fears and put them to death at the cross. Imani women's ministry desires to create an environment where we are comfortable with each other to remove barriers that prevent us from reaching God's destiny for us as women. This can only be achieved by coming together as Christian women in Christian Love. What’s at the heart of Christian love? Jesus said, "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35). John, inspired by the Holy Spirit, once wrote, "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death" (1 John 3:14). And "by this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome" (1 John 5:2-3).
Christian love is giving to others those things that you would want them to give you if you were in their situation -- and it's doing so even if they can't pay you back. In fact, it's doing so especially if they can't pay you back! Christian love is respect for others. It's mercy! It's charity!
As Christians, we're called to give ourselves to God as a "living sacrifice." The Apostle Paul helps us understand this truth in his letter to the believers in Rome:
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
So, how do we truly present ourselves to God as a living sacrifice? In a nutshell, we must die to our prior selves.

SERVE the WORD...through evangelism and ministiries of hospitality, healing and hope.
